Texas Instruments TPS53353DQPR

The Texas Instruments TPS53353DQPR is a high-performance, D-CAP™ mode synchronous buck converter capable of delivering up to 20 A of continuous output current with integrated 5.5-mΩ and 2.2-mΩ MOSFETs. Designed for space-constrained power systems, this device minimizes external component count while offering a wide conversion input voltage range of 1.5 V to 15 V and a supply voltage (VDD) range of 4.5 V to 25 V. The output voltage is adjustable from 0.6 V to 5.5 V with a precise 1% reference accuracy. It achieves 92% efficiency at 20 A from 12 V to 1.5 V conversion. The TPS53353DQPR features D-CAP™ mode control for ultrafast transient response, selectable switching frequency from 250 kHz to 1 MHz, automatic skip Eco-mode™ for light-load efficiency, and an integrated boost switch. Additional features include selectable internal soft-start times, adjustable overcurrent protection with thermal compensation, and full support for ceramic output capacitors.

Description:

The TPS53353 is a D-CAP™ mode, 20-A synchronous buck converter with integrated MOSFETs. It is designed for ease of use and for systems requiring a low external component count and minimal board space. This device features 5.5-mΩ and 2.2-mΩ integrated MOSFETs, a precise 1% 0.6-V reference, and an integrated boost switch. Competitive features include a wide conversion input voltage range of 1.5 V to 15 V, a very low external component count, D-CAP™ mode control for ultrafast transient response, automatic skip mode operation, an internal soft-start control, selectable frequency, and no compensation required. The conversion input voltage range is 1.5 V to 15 V, the supply voltage range is 4.5 V to 25 V, and the output voltage range is 0.6 V to 5.5 V. This device is available in a 5-mm × 6-mm, 22-pin QFN package and is rated for an operating temperature range of –40°C to 85°C. The TPS548B28 is a newer 20-A device designed for datacenter applications and is offered in a smaller lead-free package.
