TI LMR38020SDDAR STOCK

The LMR38020SDDAR is a wide input voltage synchronous buck converter from Texas Instruments, designed to deliver 2A continuous output current over a 4.2V to 80V input range. Its ultra-low 40µA quiescent operating current and ability to operate at nearly 100% duty cycle make it well-suited for industrial applications and MHEV/EV systems that experience voltage dips-1. This device integrates multiple features to reduce external component count and simplify design. A precision enable pin supports direct connection to high voltages or precise startup/shutdown sequencing, while a power-good flag with built-in filtering provides system status monitoring without an external supervisor-1. The switching frequency is adjustable from 200 kHz to 2.2 MHz and can be synchronized to an external clock, with a spread spectrum option available to minimize EMI-1.

Overview:

The LMR38020 synchronous buck converter is designed to regulate over a wide input voltage range, minimizing the need for external surge suppression components. The LMR38020 can continue to operate at nearly 100% duty cycle as needed during input voltage dips down to 4.2V, making it an ideal choice for wide input voltage range industrial applications and MHEV/EV systems. The LMR38020 offers flexibility with a precision enable pin that supports direct connection to wide input voltages or precise control of device startup and shutdown. A power-good flag with built-in filtering and delay provides a true indication of system status, eliminating the need for external supervisors. The device features pseudo-random spread spectrum for ultra-low EMI, and the switching frequency can be configured between 200 kHz and 2.2 MHz to avoid noise-sensitive frequency bands. Additionally, the frequency can be selected to improve efficiency at low operating frequencies or reduce solution size at high operating frequencies. The device includes built-in protection features such as cycle-by-cycle current limit, hiccup mode short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown in case of excessive power dissipation. The LMR38020 is available in an 8-pin HSOIC PowerPAD™ integrated circuit package.
