TI TPS2553QDBVRQ1 Datesheet

The TPS2553QDBVRQ1 is an automotive-qualified, single-channel power-distribution switch designed for applications requiring precise current limiting, high capacitive loads, or short-circuit protection. It supports up to 1.5A of continuous load current and offers a programmable current-limit threshold from 75mA to 1.7A (typical) using an external resistor, with ±6% accuracy at higher settings. The device incorporates controlled rise and fall times to minimize current ringing during switching transitions, and it operates in constant-current mode to maintain safe output current when the load exceeds the limit threshold. An internal reverse-voltage comparator disables the power switch when the output voltage is driven above the input, protecting upstream circuitry. Description:

The TPS2553-Q1 power-distribution switch is intended for applications where precise current limiting is required or where high capacitive loads and shorts are encountered, and it provides up to 1.5A of continuous load current. These devices provide a programmable current-limit threshold between 75mA and 1.7A (typical) via an external resistor. Current-limit accuracy of ±6% is achieved at higher current-limit settings. The rise and fall times of the power switch are controlled to minimize current ringing during turn-on and turn-off. When the output load exceeds the current-limit threshold, the TPS2553-Q1 devices limit the output current to a safe level by operating in constant-current mode. When the output voltage is driven higher than the input, an internal reverse-voltage comparator disables the power switch to protect devices on the switch input. The FAULT output is asserted low during overcurrent and reverse-voltage conditions.
