TI TPSM82823ASILR STOCK

The TPSM82823ASILR is a 3-A step-down power module from the TPSM8282x family, packaged in a compact MicroSiP™ form factor that integrates both a synchronous buck converter and an inductor. This device is specifically configured for forced PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation) operation, enabling continuous conduction mode (CCM) across all load currents to minimize output voltage ripple. The converter operates at a nominal switching frequency of 4 MHz in PWM mode. It supports an input voltage range of 2.4 V to 5.5 V and provides either an adjustable output voltage from 0.6 V to 4 V or fixed output options (1.2 V, 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3.3 V). Based on the DCS-Control topology, the TPSM82823ASILR delivers excellent load transient response and precise output regulation. The device includes a 100% duty cycle for lowest dropout, integrated soft-start to reduce inrush current, output discharge, a power-good output with a window comparator, hiccup short-circuit protection, and thermal overload protection.

Description:

The TPSM8282x device family comprises 1-A, 2-A, and 3-A step-down converters in a MicroSiP™ power module, optimized for small solution size and high efficiency. The power module integrates a synchronous step-down converter and an inductor, simplifying design, reducing external components, and saving printed circuit board (PCB) area. The TPSM8282x offers two versions. The first version automatically enters power-save mode to maintain high efficiency under ultra-light load conditions, extending battery runtime in the system. The second version, TPSM8282xA, enables forced PWM operation to maintain continuous conduction mode at all currents, minimizing output voltage ripple. In PWM mode, the converter operates at a nominal switching frequency of 4 MHz. In power-save mode, the device features a typical quiescent current of 4 µA. Using the DCS-Control topology, the device achieves excellent load transient performance and precise output voltage regulation. The EN and PG pins support sequencing configurations for flexible system design. The integrated soft-start reduces inrush current required from the input power supply. Over-temperature protection and hiccup short-circuit protection make the solution robust and reliable.
